Get your Fastag before your pocket is pinched!
The government has made it mandatory for all four-wheel vehicles that ply the national highways to have a Fastag. Over the weekend, Nitin Gadkari, the Union transportation minister was quoted as saying that the deadline, which had already once been pushed from January 1 to February 15, would not be extended further.
That means that vehicles that do not have a Fastag will have to pay a penalty at all toll booths on national highways.
With the deadline now having passed, the pace of adoption will likely increase and that will hopefully mean lesser wait times at toll booths. Here’s ET NOW’s Alex Mathew on what you need to know if you haven’t yet acquired your Fastag.
